AhR Pharmaceuticals Receives a Federal Grant (Nov. 2nd, 2010)
Madison, Wisconsin, USA. November 2nd, 2010.
The AhR Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a pharmaceutical R & D company based in Madison, Wisconsin, USA, received a grant from the Qualifying Therapeutic Discovery Project Program co-administered by the US Internal Revenue Services (IRS) and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The project, which was evaluated by the US Department of HHS as to "show significant potential to produce new and cost-saving therapies, support jobs and increase U.S. competitiveness", is entitled "Development of ITE into an Efficacious and Sustainable but Low Side-effect Therapeutic Agent in Combating Cancer".
"It feels fairly good," said Dr. Jiasheng (Jason) Song, the VP and Chief Scientific Officer of the AhR Pharmaceuticals, "to be recognized and supported by the federal agencies." "Even though most of our costs for drug development were paid by our strategic partner and therefore the costs directly from our company were minimum, so was the dollar value of the grant," Dr. Song continued, "we do value and appreciate the support from IRS and HHS."
